Between people like Morhaim and Kaplan leaving Blizzard, I’m not surprised it’s the shitshow it is now. Also the fact that women in the company had a whisper network to warn each other about dangerous men and hr did nothing is horrendous.

Also learning Bobby Kotick was a shit-eating businessman from the day he launched out of the womb is in some ways vindicating. The fact he went on record multiple times saying he only cares about profits, not game quality, is horrifying but unsurprising.

I had always been sort of aware that Blizzard was a successful company, but I don’t think I realized how on top of the game they were in the early 2000s. I also didn’t know just how much the bottom line workers were getting screwed over with payment from the very beginning.
