this book is so beautifully written and HOW have i not known any of this before. ‘In her assault on Venus, Mary Richardson wanted to highlight the hypocrisy that a picture of a nude woman demanded more respect than the actual bodies of half of the population’ and the fact that it’s the cover of (my copy not the goodreads cover) of the book and i can SEE the slash marks

Men are so disgusting ugh. the damage done to these sculptures thousands of years ago were again happening to remakes in the 18th century because men just CANNOT “help themselves”. and her writing on the effects of constant female nudity exposure in modern media and the difference of perception of nudity in women(“vulnerable”) than men(“strength”) is just yesss dive deep
