A small section of the book presents a few Vermont characters that are not ghosts or ghouls:
There's a lot more to Cabot than cheese. There's Zera Colburn, the 6 year old mathematical savant who was born in 1804. Zera, with his father, toured the east coast big cities where Zera gave amazing demonstrations to packed auditoriums.

The ghosts abiding the Green Mountains are far superior to those Hunting the American Heartland......but I might be a little biased.

Berengaria It's amazing how many (young) people scoff at cryptozoology.

Once I wrote a story about a supposed panther sighting in the UK (the most common crypto sighting there, btw) and had young Brits telling me that was absurd. When I pointed out it was about a *sighting* not real panthers and provided links to newspapers and clubs where these sightings had been reported, they laughed and said those papers were rubbish and always printed lies and those clubs were just full of nutters.

They couldn't unlink a sighting with an actual panther. *shakes head* And kids with that mentality claim to be "scientific thinkers"!

Valerie Book Valkyrie Truely scary is the psychological rigidity and demonstrated intellectual atrophy of these folks. Science today seems to be suffering a derth of expansive critical thinkers, exploratory activities, and healthy debate 😪.
