I’m curious how much of this novella inspired Knausgaard’s quartet series. So far it’s been a collection of short passages, each one centering on an observation from the perspective of the unnamed narrator: a wall, a tree, a dog, etc.

Those long-form sentence structure does take a little bit of an adjustment, but the shorter passages make the structure feel less Sisyphean to get through.
