I have past well-known scenes now. I rewatched the movie scene on YT and I got a version where I think I gave myself away something I have not known yet. Reading any comment is also not a good idea. But it's okay, it isn't too bad.

Similar to my experience when reading The Hobbit, I again have the feeling I enjoy reading LotR a lot more, because I used to play World of Warcraft.
Reading words like "to maim", "wraith", "hilt" and knowing them is fun.
("Battered Hilt", that item from WotL that started a quest will be in my brain forever.)
The Council chapter was longer one, but interesting. In general I do not mind "tell, don't show". :)

Ah, here we go again.
Finally managed to pick up LotR again. I started it a good while ago.
In between I thought about switching to German, but that did not hit the mark.
For now I accepted that I cannot hold back looking up every other word.
I do not care if I "understand the context". I want to know the exact translation, sometimes followed by a "word xy etymology" google search back-to-back.
