with all its little glittering eyes and says:

“The Old Music” section is my favorite so far. It’s just fun to improvise a tune and sing out loud, whereas I find reciting poetry well extremely difficult.

I’ve started opening this book some mornings to read a poem. It’s good to start my day with appreciation for a new spoon and an old spoon.
But I interrupted my poem today to look out the kitchen window at a blackbird, yellow beak, round eye, perched on the berry bush and eating its breakfast. I wanted to keep watching and watching it but eventually I came to close and it flew away.
