Any recommendations for easy and fun YA? Working at camp means I have very little time for pleasure reading, plus I'm looking for stuff that's straightforward but not, like, romance-novel thoughtless.

Lucie I have recently liked Nimona (graphic novel), Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda (cute teen romance) and Shadowshaper (urban fantasy). Even if it's not what you're looking for, as a YA librarian I feel obligated to respond :)

Micah Omg, no, I super appreciate it. I made it through The Dark is Rising, and it was okay. It fit what I needed. I'm putting these on my list though!

Also, wait, I missed that you were a legit YA librarian! How do I consistently know such neat people! Good on you, friend!

Lucie Hope you enjoy them! Now I'm curious if "Dark is Rising" would hold up to how much I liked it as a teen, so maybe I'll have a reread. It doesn't get a lot of action at my library.

And yeah YA librarian is the best job ever! Or so it feels... :)
