This is one of the best social commentary books that I’ve ever read. Ellen has unique insights on motherhood, babies, and marriages and how cultural, political, social, and political factors cause us to believe that child-bearing is natural and desirable. Her ideas ring true even after 50 year, showing how much of a visionary she was in her time.
