In the library, the reference desk is where it’s all at. It is the chalice, the grail, the Golden Fleece. In a skeletal diagram from a reference book like the Gray’s Anatomy it would be the skull, though that would be a little self-congratulatory. But it is the anchor to the whole place, ground zero in the library.
