finished herakles, started hekabe. the preface to hekabe as a character, a tragedy, is really insightful. it starts with the end and it unravels from there. carson has such a powerful way with words. really appreciate how she refocuses on those living after tragedy - when the vast majority of those you love are gone, what does it mean to keep living? what does revenge become, then, if not a way to live?
