I do feel like I'm speeding through these stories without a second thought, or a first thought for that matter. They are like bite-sized novels some of them, like Aepyornis Island – I always enjoy Wells stories when they're at sea and on the brink of discovery, or stranded. The Strange Orchid I think was overly simple and obvious; typical killer plant story. The Cone I want to read again for its atmosphere.
