Book 1 was 2 stars why read book 2? BC imho the first book in the series is always the most difficult to get right. The author has to accomplish a lot without info dumps or the pace lagging while still keeping the reader interested. Some of my fave series had less than stellar first books ex Kate Daniels 1st book got 2 stars from me I kept reading & fell in lust. So fingers crossed it turns out to be the case again
