i wish i had this book in high school. some of the poems in this collection definitely would've helped me navigate girlhood and the terrors of being a young black girl and being told i was undesirable but having to also confront the sexualization of my body at such a young age by others while simultaneously trying to figure out my own sexuality and where my looks fit in the world.
