Maarten Vanderhaeghe It is quite insane how little physicists from my corner of the world know about the existence of this book

Maarten Vanderhaeghe Describing Belgium as a corner of the world might do it too much justice

Neon Chan I’m such a dork, your comment about corners made me try to think about edges and corners in an abstract topological way, in attempt to make some rubbish joke

Neon Chan It turns out there has been a previous biography of Dirac that focuses on his work more than his character. The strength of this book lies in its ability to reveal the personal growth of Dirac, and projects his enormous scientific stature down to a more understandable (/relatable) human figure.

Maarten Vanderhaeghe I've been there, I can never think of good very nerdy jokes, only the ones about BCS theory seem to come without any resistance

Maarten Vanderhaeghe That sounds indeed interesting, I've read books like that in the past (Bill Bryson is quite good at that) and I like them
