Eh, sorry to disappoint, I'm less of a romantic and more into the time travel aspect of the story that was very well written BTW. He manages to generate interest in time travel without mentioning any hard science.
Richard Matheson is the unappreciated writer of many books turned into movies & has done significant writing for TV as well.
