Finished trunk… shit got crazy in like literally the last 5 pages. It’s entirely possible that I’m the problem because I’m reading in wildly inconsistent spurts but the pacing in this book feels so unpredictable. I’m very indecisive about how much I’m liking it — lots of profound thoughts on moral crisis and yet I feel a distance from the characters… except for Patricia love her

Halfway thru and we’ve finally got a plot… Patricia is still my favorite

Patricia’s chapter was the best and worst of what this book has offered so far — so many endless descriptions of trees (I never knew there were so many ways to describe trees) and at the same time such a beautiful and carefully observant bird’s eye view of someone’s life and humanity. Ready to get to Trunk tho…….
