I didn't know what to expect from this continuation of Martin and Francis' story, but I enjoyed this a lot.

Martin really didn’t know what to say. Francis could be intensely romantic in this very, very odd way. Only he would expend so much thought on something seemingly so minor—but these days, he shared his thoughts with Martin, which was probably the greatest gift of all.

Delving into characters. I lerves it.

Martin is starting to see the old cracks in Francis' long cultivated armor. Francis has been rather blatant in letting Martin know that he trusts him implicitly.

I like the way Martin's inner dialogue is subtly and seamlessly reminding us about the personalities of these characters within this first scene in a natural way.
