Lee smells Jeremy's armpit and it smells like pineapple. Then, he lifts Jeremy's bikini underwear and it smells like the ocean? Okkky, weird.

I'm already confused. I thought Luis was friends with Jeremy, but Luis is calling Lee about the damage?

T.J. aaahahahah. Um.

Tony R. Jenn - you are obviously the class clown around these parts! You make my sides hurt with laughter!

Jenn Who me? *preens* Thanks! Oh, and the guy above that posted^^^^you should read his book next. Not really full of the alphas, but fantastic just the same! Bear, Otter, and the Kid!

message 4: by T.J. (new)

T.J. Look at you, book pimp. I want to get you a cane and a brightly colored over coat and have you ask me "Where's my money at, bitches?" Alas, personal fantasies have a way of negating reality ;)

Jenn I am the Lady of the Evening who hits bitches with bottles when they bring shit, yo!

I like canes.

message 6: by Tony R. (new)

Tony R. That one is already on my TBR :)

message 7: by T.J. (new)

T.J. "When they bring shit, yo."

Wow. Just...wow. Sorry, Mistress. Won't ever let it happen again.

Jenn When did you bring shit lol? And, you calling me Mistress...oh, goody.

message 9: by T.J. (new)

T.J. DUDE! working on cover shit for burn. Can you email me that fire picture from a few weeks back? I have a rad idea I want to run with.

message 10: by Jenn (new) - rated it 2 stars

Jenn Sure! Give me one sec.

message 12: by T.J. (new)

T.J. epic. Thanks. This cover is going to rock some socks off, if it goe's like I've got planned.

message 13: by Jenn (new) - rated it 2 stars

Jenn Sweet! Yeah, I love that picture. Granted, I do wish the back guy was bigger, but still...

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Love this book, got me on an awesome Sarah Black reading frenzy. I kind of love Lee.

Jenn *sigh* Well, I just don't know. I feel like writing is all over the place. Some parts are SOOO good, and then there will be these random lines that just come out of nowhere that sounds so strange.

Her style is like that, hectic. I have a soft spot for her guys and she always has pretty important things on the table. Teen suicide, child trafficking, war, I really appreciate that in her books. But I can totally see how she's not for everyone.

Jenn Well, its like I'll be listening to Lee be distant or very simplified thoughts and dialogue. Next thing I know, he's thinking about Ivory, porcelain skin, the ocean smell of Jeremy's cock, the spun silk of his hair, and the pineapple smell of his armpit. It just doesn't fit.

Lol that does sound off. This was literally 100 books ago, so I can't recall details. I do remember really liking Lee though. Hope it gets better for you :0)

message 19: by Jenn (new) - rated it 2 stars

Jenn Oh, its ok. I love plenty of things people hate or rip apart lol. I hope it gets better too. :)

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

I loved this one. Jenn is just being a pain because we are always backwards on books. LOL!

Kind of like you and Dane, LA.

message 21: by Jenn (new) - rated it 2 stars

Jenn Kate, you loved this?!?! ahhahahahahahah

LMAO Dane and I do have the inversely related thing going :0) We do agree sometimes though!

Why aren't my notifications working? Pheh.

I should read BOATK just to drive Jenn crazy. I really, really should. *evil thoughts*

message 24: by Jenn (last edited Nov 23, 2011 10:32PM) (new) - rated it 2 stars

Jenn You wouldn't be driving me crazy. you'd be driving your dear friend, Tj, up above crazy. Anyways, I don't see how you wouldn' like it. If you liked this, there's no way you won't love that.

Jenn wrote: "You wouldn't be driving me crazy. you'd be driving your dear friend, Tj up above crazy. Anyways, I don't see how you wouldn' like it. If you liked this there's no way you won't love that."

Oh no, precocious kids, or any kind of kid in my romance, drives me nuts. Plus BOATK's a loonnnggg book. Sarah Black is nice and keeps her stories very short. Sometimes too short, but too short is much better than too long.

message 26: by T.J. (new)

T.J. pffft. ;)

message 27: by Jenn (new) - rated it 2 stars

Jenn Kids don't bother me all the time. What does bother me with kids in books is the phonetics. Since that's my area of studies in school, it drives me up the wallllls when authors replace "stops" with "glides" or use "fricatives" for "liquids" when kids talk. That does not happen. Or they completely ignore language and social milestones, or push the stages of Brown's morphemes. It just tells me they didn't do their research. Again, I'm sure its how people in the law enforcment field or medical field etc feel about books with these aspects.

T.j. wrote: "pffft. ;)"

Hey, you. No piling on!

message 29: by T.J. (new)

T.J. LMAO. Shut it down. No, I'm cool. Kids aren't for everyone, and I totally get that. I would never force anyone to read it. Even if all the cool people have already. *shrugs*

message 30: by T.J. (new)

T.J. bwhahahaha

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

T.j. wrote: "Even if all the cool people have already. *shrugs*"

I know. I lose sleep wondering if I should read it just so I can play with the cool kids. :>

message 32: by T.J. (new)

T.J. lmao. Naw. I don't blame you if you don't like kids. It is long and I so totally understand. I like talking to ya regardless ;)

message 33: by Jenn (new) - rated it 2 stars

Jenn If Tj really wanted to be cool he would read The Administration. I would love to see him pull his hair out.

You know, I loved BOATK but a couple of my gang were on the fence. I know you don't like the kiddies, so I'd say maybe go for Tj's new series instead :0)

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm just giving ya a bad time, Tj. Well, mostly it was aimed at Jenn but I'm counting this as a two-fer. She knows I like to stir things up. ;-)

That new one does sound good, doesn't it?

message 37: by T.J. (new)

T.J. Ha, Laura. The new series, at least the first book, is even longer than BOATK. If you don't like long books, you won't read Burn, that's for sure ;)

message 38: by Jenn (new) - rated it 2 stars

Jenn Well, Kate did love The Administration which is super long overall, plus Captive Prince which is what like 35 chapters already? Plus, from what I've gathered about the feel for Burn I would say this more up her ally.

message 39: by Jenn (new) - rated it 2 stars

Jenn And, Kate loves riling me up! Good thing I don't care when people tell me I love crap. ;)

It does! And whoa! I'm still thinking about Counterpunch, damn that was good.
Tj I like the longer books. No issues with that, IF I like the book of course ;0)

Lauraadriana wrote: "Kate Mc. wrote: "Lauraadriana wrote: "Kate Mc. wrote: "Jenn wrote: "You wouldn't be driving me crazy. you'd be driving your dear friend, Tj up above crazy. Anyways, I don't see how you wouldn' li..."

Exactly LA. Length is great IF I like the book, otherwise it's a slog. Counterpunch felt very quick. Aleks said it was novel length, but it read like a novella for me. God that was great.

message 42: by T.J. (new)

T.J. Counterpunch? Who is that by? And my big thing right now is I know we're *friends* here, but I am still expecting honest reviews for Burn. It's a big departure, that's for sure, and I don't necessarily need to have my feelings spared. It either works or it doesn't. But... *grins* I think it will.

message 43: by T.J. (new)

T.J. or, rather, I hope it does (That made me kind of sound like a condescending douche, totally not my intention.)

message 44: by Jenn (new) - rated it 2 stars

Jenn Counterpunch is by Alexs who also co-wrote Special Forces. Its set in the same world as Rachel's books, but you don't need to read them to understand Counterpunch. Its probably my next read after Aisling 2.

Jenn T.j. wrote: "or, rather, I hope it does (That made me kind of sound like a condescending douche, totally not my intention.)"

lmao! I think you have seen us discuss in Drunken Book reviews no? Also, before that did I not have some honest status updates. I know the same is for Laura and Kate. You have nothing to worry about as far as honesty.

And, just ask Kate about us in the Ty/Zane group. Poor Abigail, she heard every rant. She said it was a goldmine though b/c she found out what worked and didn't.

T.j. wrote: "or, rather, I hope it does (That made me kind of sound like a condescending douche, totally not my intention.)"

LOL. If an author doesn't think his work is any good then I have to ask why he's putting it out there! Confidence is a GOOD thing. If you don't trust yourself to tell a great story, why should I? Hmmmm? Besides self confident people are sexy! *grin*

message 47: by T.J. (new)

T.J. lol. Fine. Burn is badass and epic and dark and has no kids and blows shit up all over the place and the last hundred pages will turn the world upside down. Better? Annnnnd that's all the teaser I am going to give.

message 48: by Jenn (new) - rated it 2 stars

Jenn Wow, Kate, you're right. Now he is super sexy. ;)

message 49: by T.J. (new)

T.J. ha!

message 50: by Jenn (new) - rated it 2 stars
