I chose to read this book because I love the Maze Runner and Scorch Trials movies. They are very intriguing and extremely exciting. I decided to read this last book in the series to get a taste of how the author writes. Since I had already seen the style of the two movies, I thought it would be fun to see how she expresses the story in the book.

A side character in this book would be Newt and Minho. These two characters are the best friends of Thomas, the protagonist. Minho and Newt are loyal and smart. They add comedy and the act of friendship to the book. Even though Minho and Newt are not the protagonists, they are a key part of this story and without them, Thomas wouldn't be where he is now.

A symbolic archetype in this book would be food. Thomas and his comrades always sat together and discussed what their next move would be. It showed that Thomas and his friends joined together in loyalty and respect. Another archetype in this book would be darkness which represents WICKED because of their cruel and careless ways.

I believe that the Death Cure is overcoming the monster because Thomas, the protagonist, and his friends are trying to overcome WICKED's forces and secure the safety of the world. This book is also a quest because Thomas and his friends are seeking peace and justice for the people of the world. This book might also qualify as a comedy because of the comments some of the characters make.
