I initially thought marcos a very sympathetic character- he despises the inhumane system he serves, and is understandably conflicted by his inability to defy it. but now i think he’s more disgusting than the people using the processing plant to make snuff films. “At times it seems she’s thinking, like she really can.” so she’s incapable of thought, but totally cool with carrying your child?

jesus christ the way my stomach dropped when the pregnancy was revealed. does he even see her as a person? does seeing her as a person, to him, make her worthy of being a sexual object, or is it her ability to have sex that makes her more human to him? it doesnt take a genius to understand that she is incapable of consent, no matter how well he treats her. this is so fucked up in so many ways, i love it

i honestly don’t know if i can finish this. it isnt the body horror or cannibalism or constant abject despair, just the puppy endangerment. supposedly later in the book they get tortured and thinking about that is making me actually nauseous. i dont know what that says about me, that i’m fine with reading about abuse of humans but i draw the line at animal abuse.

i’m not really disturbed by the concept of cannibalism. i think most depictions of it are exaggeratedly horrifying, like putting a whole head on a plate of lettuce or something. the reality is that our bodies are not our own after we die, and personally i dont see how its any business of mine what people do with my house when i no longer live there.

i doubt this was written with hucow in mind, but i cant help but think of this so far as a deconstruction of the hucow fetish as a metaphor for exploitation. no hucow lover wants to read about being brutalized, mutilated, and eaten (or at least, not most of them)- they only care about the sex, the impregnation, the lactation.
