It's good but I'm not sure I like the murderer being portrayed as someone mentally ill. It's seems to me in real life serial killers tend to be found fit to stand trial so I think this is a damaging trope.

I worked somewhere where the receptionist had been told that someone had schizophrenia and she was thereafter absolutely terrified of that person, exactly because of stories like this.
