Read Sylvia Rivera’s, “Y’all Better Quiet Down” speech from the 1973 Christopher Street Liberation Day Rally on page 31 of this book and then immediately opened YouTube to watch a video of the speech and wow, it’s so moving and inspiring. From having the crowd booing her as she walked on the podium to having the chant GAY POWER with her by the end of her speech. Iconic.
