After reading this book, I realised something I realise each time I read an African book: We Africans are so different. I can't even imagine the trauma she went through with the mutilation but I can relate to the traditional medicine people violating a child's body in the name of culture or tradition in other ways.
It is an interesting and triggering story that also leaves the reader wondering if things will change
