Dude. It’s engineered to engender PURE TERROR. And (so far) it ABSOLUTELY hits that target 🎯. It brings back memories from the 1980’s. There was this constant sense that we were all going to die (or much much worse) in a fire ball. Then the 1990’s happened. And (very unexpectedly) we all just sort of went to sleep on the threat of Nuclear annihilation. Of course. The pending ecological apocalypse soon took the place of (and kind of rendered quaint) the Cold War chills. But I think THAT was also pretty quaint. Because. If anything. The rapid advance of ecological destruction makes the threat of nuclear war increase (and of course vice versa). In other words, the possibility that somebody will slap that button goes up as the globes resources go up in flames. Conversely, the likelihood that we all die of ecological failure goes up, precipitously in the aftermath of a nuclear threat. WHOLLY FUCK.
