Marcus's friend Chris invites Jackie over to some stranger's house. The book said that the house was very messy, full of beer cans and trash. Jackie didn't want to be there but it was for Chris and she didn't want to let him down.

Jackie's mom asked Marcus and Jackie to garden and pick beans. There isn't much going on in this part except for working on the farm.

Marcus saw that his car tires have been slashed. The rest of the family went to see what happened. He thought it was for some sort of revenge or a prank some kid has done. The dad called the police to investigate what happened. The rest of the family stayed inside and watched.

The story starts to get really big here. When Jackie came back to the house, Marcus invited a friend over. Jackie then recognizes the voice of the friend who was invited, and gets suspicious on who the friend is.

The story gets more deep when Jackie's sister Claire finds out her relationship with Marcus. And she wonders what Marcus was doing with her

I just started this book and I think I like it a bit. The characters are interesting and the whole story is good.
