I finally laughed, but at what cost?

Okay, I think I finally understand the satire in this story, but I’m still not super stoked to be reading it.

After reading 13 or 14 of Palahniuk’s books over the past 15 years, I’ve finally come across one I actively dislike. I don’t understand what the hell he was trying to do with this one.
