A fairly interesting dip into the rise and fall of the 72 McGovern campaign, for me the thing it outlines most is the general malaise surrounding presidential politics in the US in 72. The vast difference between the fervor of the primary and the general public’s resignation to just turn off politics, Vietnam be damned. A great for book for anyone interested in America’s great rightward shift.
