I’ve read more. I don’t have anything to say. Part of the reason I chose this book was I thought it would slow me down… I wanted to give myself time to write 2 reviews. I did do the reviews over the weekend and I AM being slowed down by this book, which I am reading infrequently. So I guess in that respect it’s been successful so far.

I’m not retaining anything. I’m reading it and it’s just going in one ear and out the other. I’m highly tempted to DNF this except that I want to kill a little bit more time until the end of the year. I want to start off 2025 with three bird-related book titles in a row and I don’t want to begin too early. But yeah, I don’t know, I’m not into this at all and even if I finish I’ll write a bad review.

I bought this book at the library book sale in February. Now seemed like a good time to read it since I recently finished PRIMA FACIE, which is partly about the fact that women aren’t believed about their experiences of sexual violence. Keep the theme going! I read a 2-star review on GR before I began which complained that the book is overly academic. Already I see what they meant: it’s almost incomprehensible.
