extremely daunting to read at first, because i've had many expectations from Osamu, despite never having read any of his works prior to his supposed golden goose.

this book put me through the inner turmoils, anxiety, and doubt, that "yozo" (or osamu, so to speak) felt. it left me speechless- in a good way- in the end, but also left me feeling fragile in the sense that i now turn to value humanity, more than ever.
