If my main character were a food item he would be a carrot. I would compare him to this because while some people may have a problem with him or don't like him, he is very good and helpful. He works hard like a carrot does for your nutrition, and the people who like him and get along well with him get a lot done for them.

Another word is pressure. This word makes it seem like there are high stakes, but when changed it wouldn't seem as important. The last word is ticked referring to the clock. This word makes it so it really emphasizes time running out, but if it said the clock moved it wouldn't sound nearly as important.

One word used in the section was quiet. This sets the tone because you can just imagine a calm environment. If this was changed to something like noisy, the environment would not look the same at all. Another word was tension. If this was switched, it would make the tone go from stressful to something else. Awaited is another word that makes it seem anticipated, but it loses it when changed to something like rushed.

In the reading after Stevie won the contest for he met another winner Susan Carol. They are both young kids, and they are tasked at writing a story about the college basketball final 4. Stevie and Susan are both very smart young kids, and they are surprisingly good at their jobs for their age.
