this started off so cute but how am i 85% into this book and no one has kissed yet?????

I'm a little confused by the layout of Salem- they live on a farm but there are multiple neighbors and carolers can walk there? The farm I grew up on was 15 minutes outside of town and our nearest neighbor was a field away. (Otherwise it's cute as heck so far I just like to be able to visualize while I read and I am confused 🙈)
