the writing in older books is so good, the classics really make u feel the scene, the characters so much. I see why it’s a classic, it may be really long winded a lot of the times but wow it’s got me on the edge of my seat stressing or laughing at some absurd character or whatever. Like even the description of the oppressive heavy sticky heat is so vivid it’s almost making me sweat
