This is something I find especially infuriating on “booktok” discussions. It’s one thing to have a difference of opinion but far too many people have forgotten that media is based on person to person. Not everyone is going to like what you like and vice versa and that is OKAY! Like you said, I typically leave it “the book just wasn’t it for ME” because I’m sure there’s plenty others out there who will love it the way it deserves. Sorry for the rant but this is a particular matter that has been rubbing me raw for some time and it truly is becoming frustrating seeing people unable to give actual nuance or unbiased critique
