girl i got spoiled for this book but even im starting to think he did it. also what was up with the random abortion plot in 300 words and never mentioned again

do not get me wrong i DID read half of this in one day bc it is unputdownable but (1) it is so transparently written towards middle aged women so i must acknowledge i am not the target here and (2) at one point the black woman judge says (IN COURT!!) ‘i couldn’t get any more shocked if idris elba walked in!’ why did they make her say this.
