the fact that some teenager just comes up to jay in a cafe and says hey can i be your dog and jay is like. okay :)))) and the kid isn’t thrown off in any way is so baffling to me. like if i were in this book i wouldn’t be dead because i wouldn’t be fucking stupid (also because i am a woman)
