I'm not too happy with this book. The plot is not believable.

Going by your reviews of previous JT novels I think my luck is going to run out of only reading good novels by him so far.

I've read all these before (about 5 years ago) and the first time I liked them a lot. It's not like I remember them and there's no surprises (I retain almost nothing of what I read). I suspect that I'm just more impatient than I used to be and I want 100% all the time.

Yeah, I enjoyed those 3 myself. Others were Grifters, Getaway and Wild Town. I think maybe, After Dark My Sweet too. Maybe I'll just reread those again.
Been thinking of doing more rereads of novels I liked instead of trying to read everything by authors.

I've always been a re-reader. That makes it sound like I'm a Serious Book Scientist, but that's not true at all. I just never remember what I've read. And I certainly don't take Lab Notes while I'm reading.
Liam wrote: "Haha yeah, my memory of what I've read isn't that great after a year or so."One payoff though was that I read Ulysses six times. Never remembered how much it sucked, so would pick it up and read it again. I finally sorta understood it.
I tried some classics when I first started reading as a hobby. Not for me. I'd probably need to read Ulysses 20 times to get it.
