3.5 stars rounded up is going to have to be my rating. I don't know what it is about Morgan's writing, but at least I know it's her writing style and I can expect it for future novels. However, at least in Winter's Maiden, it was a writing style that was lovely for the book. Tainted just felt like it was badly edited and TBH besides two scenes my initial prediction that this book is forgettable is true.

As seen in Winter Maiden *although this one seems to be way worse because Winter's Maiden was a five-star read and stood on its own* the author just has a... naturally bland writing style. I am enjoying it, but sadly it is a forgettable read. She's not building her characters enough for me to care about them fully. And again, the amount of time she jumps over is throwing me. It seems these are trademarks of Morgan's.
