My critique of Dane Ortlund is this: he writes of suffering as if he’s someone who’s never truly suffered. He writes of suffering as if it’s a simple matter of menial choice — “suffering? Choose Jesus”. Which I can appreciate, but only those who are OUT of deep suffering can really hear what he’s saying here, not the battered, broken, & mentally trampled. (Truly, idk what he’s been through in reality)
