i wonder if the choppy sentence structure is intentional on rooney’s part. it almost appears to reflect peter’s “sick in the head” mental state, as though the discordance of the sentences is a mirror to peter’s way of thinking after his fathers funeral. i’m not a huge fan of the way it’s written so far - its a little hard to follow along with - but i do appreciate the symbolism behind it
