ugh, how do I describe this? Do I think this book is phenomenal in what it is doing? Yes but unfortunately it puts me in a massive reading slump because it’s so heavy on trauma, war and unlikeable characters.

The father in question a psychopath. Mark my words.

I must admit that after reading The Poppy War, I had no intention to pick up book 2 after book one was so chaotic and disturbing at the same time.

The Poppy War didn’t even get a rating from me that’s how undecided I was but somehow I couldn’t forget this world and it’s characters and suddenly I realised I need to know more.

…well and here I am.
