omfg I can't stand that she's acting like the victim in a situation that SHE caused, even after being told MULTIPLE times to leave it alone!

“I talked to [your dad] earlier, when you went to the car to get your sister’s gift.”
“Don’t,” he said.
“He hates this estrangement, Jamal.”
“Don’t get in the middle of this, Phylicia.”

Holy fuck. Phylicia is so fucking annoying with how she constantly harps on Jamal to reconcile with his dad. JUST LEAVE IT ALONE. Let him deal with his family shit on his own!

“Why didn’t you show up this morning?” Jamal asked. ...
“Professional emergency,” she answered. ...
“And it didn’t occur to you to call and let me know you wouldn’t be working at Belle Maison today?”
She shrugged. “Guess I forgot. You know how that is, don’t you?” ...
He forced himself to swallow the temper that flared at her flippant jab.

I don't even know whose side to take cuz I sympathize with both.

“Oh, God,” Phylicia said with a satisfied sigh. “That was so much better than Bob.”
Jamal pushed up on one elbow and pinned her with a dark glare. “Are you kidding me? You bring up your ex-boyfriend now?”
She let out a breathless laugh. “Bob isn’t my ex-boyfriend. He’s my vibrator,” she said. “And you just put him to shame.”

“Is this all a part of some wicked plan to get me alone in the car with you for an extended amount of time?”
A smile broke out over Jamal’s face. “You see straight through me.”
“I don’t want any funny business from you, Jamal Johnson.”
“Are you sure about that?” he asked. “It would make the drive into the city so much more entertaining.”
