It’s saddening to realize that the same stories being read about someone’s history is being experienced by many around the world; yet not being able to receive the same platform for others to hear and sympathize alike to myself right now.

It made me think about how extremely grateful I must be to live currently without experiencing war trauma like those in mentioned in the chapter. However, on the short hand, current civilians in multiple areas of the world (gaza, Lebanon, Ethiopia, Congo, Sudan, China etc) are suffering similar troubles as those in the book.

The chapter, colonial wars and mental disorders, is extremely engaging. The first hand experience of fanon’s psychiatry clinic in delivering guidance to troubled victims and participants of the Algerian-French war speaks outside of the pages to touch the emotions of the reader directly. After reading series A, the few stories told shattered my heart after understanding the trauma endured by many living in the war
