So yea I agree that preachers evoke emotional responses to manipulate people to feel a religious experience—that’s pretty much what all of my high school retreats were. I also agree that these manipulation tactics are bad etc. etc. BUT idk if I like how this author is insinuating that bc of this, all religious experiences are bad/fake/engineered. Not that I’ve personally had any religious experiences but still
