This book definitely gets too much hate. The dialogue between Melena and the nanny is hilarious. Elphaba, as a baby, CAN be funny.

I was expecting it to be bad like the reviews make out the book to be but I'm actually loving the details and the storytelling Maguire uses. I'll just have to read further to see whether the book truly is a verbose monster or people just prefer more straight-to-the-point books 🤷♀️ The nanny is definitely my favourite so far. She's amusing and I just love her sarcasm 😭
