After Robin gets shot by the Mad Hatter, Bruce takes him to Leslie, his guardian who.looked after him after he lost his parents. She now works in a infirmary on crime alley. What we see is a new take on the early years. Art as good as ever and interesting to see snippets of what happened in the intervening years before he became bats. A good physiological look into his reasons also. 7.5/10

The Mad Hatter issue while still a good story was probably the weakest so far. The jokes were on point and the art was still really good(but maybe not as sharp as previous issues). There just wasn't much story and how Bats and Robin reveal the clues didn't make you think/was slightly muddled. Still loving how wacky and over the top(flying hats and a giant snooker table) it is. 6/10

Barrs and Davies era so far is fun and wacky, with bright colourful artwork which is unlike Most Batman stories from this era. But tonally also dark at times especially with the shadowing. Its like,a mix of Adam West Batman and the 90s animated series at the same time. Doesn't always work to its fullest especially in Bats dialogue. Unusual.🤔

The collection has a variety of artists and writers and so far a very good standard across the board. These stories immediately start Batman Post Crisis, so DC at the time were trying to find their footing during the transition era. But that all chances with the Seminal Year one which I'll be rereading next. But this time in the original colours. Been a while since read any comics but excited to reignite the passion.
