Intriguing while analyzing not only the brutality of racism/colonialism, but very insightful into the minds of the most savage slave owners through their rhetoric towards convincing other colonizers to become worse monsters.

Very insightful and mesmerizing in its descriptions, personally I feel drawn and immersed in the writing, I.e immersed in the time period as if I was an observer and ghost participant, loosing myself loose and flowing with the waves, learning to not fight them but to dance as if I was one with the tide and ocean.

Incredible descriptions and insight into the history of Haiti, colonialism, class structures pertaining to Haiti at that time, as well as foreshadowing into the future or reflecting on the past and observing the present state of Haiti. Spending lots of time enjoying learning about Haiti history.
