The children are sneaking around island trying to find a way to destroy the Whisperer. Kate almost gets caught snooping but they think that she is just a rat in the air vents. I predict that the children will defeat Mr. Curtain and he will be sad because Reynie and Sticky were his favorite messengers. I also predict that Mr. Curtain will seek revenge on the Mysterious Benedict society.

Sticky and Reynie have just been made messengers. Martina Crowe graduated and was made an Executive, which is not good. The writer has a writing style that makes it feel like there is more to know and see, therefore the author constantly leaves the book on a cliffhanger. Sometimes it is good that the author does that and sometimes it is bad.

Reynie and his friends finally reach Nomanson Island. They start exploring the island and Sticky gets sucked up by a trap, thank goodness for Kate who saved him. Mr. Curtain turns out to be Mr. Benedict's long lost twin brother. One question that seems fitting for this novel is,"Why did Mr. Benedict not try to find out about his long lost twin or even look him up?" Another is,"How did Mr. B's parent's lab explode?"
