I rewatched the movie a week ago and then I read the book immediately after, and for once, I'm actually so torn over whether I like the book or the movie more. While the book goes more in-depth into the cool science and has pretty airtight logic, the movie is just such a good comfort film, like the perfect blend of humor, adversity, rejoice...ugh.

YES totally feel you, the CGI, humor, depiction of Mars, was just so good!! didn’t even regret not reading the book first. I actually like the film better so far, Mark Watney’s thoughts and jokes deserve a stage and it’s even funnier with the acting
