I really like the beginning. It really does pull you into that time period, though I could also imagine that Snow White''s birth might be a bit scary in this time period!

The viewpoint shift quite surprised me. The narrator claims it's because Snow White can't tell her story objectively, though her point of view was pretty compelling. It was interesting to see the huntsman story told in another way.
