Bonhoeffer comments on monasticism. Monasticism is pretty strange both from my own point of view and a modern evangelical American’s point of view. I see it is very interesting and Bonhoeffer comments about its great ability in discipleship, yet it had (in 20th century Europe and previously) divided Christians between extremely devout and lukewarm Christians. Bonhoeffer is commenting on the spiritually dead.
